How color correction is done
You send your photos
Photos with a color cast: a faint tint over everything, like a little yellow or blue, so the colors drift from the real product.
We set the white point
An editor picks a spot that should be neutral, so every color in the photo shifts back to true.
We balance light and tone
Brightness, contrast and warmth are adjusted so details show and colors look natural.
Same color in every photo
Your whole set matches the real product and each other, checked by a second editor.
Why calibrated studio color correction prevents costly ecommerce returns.
Color mismatch between product photos and physical items is the #1 driver of apparel and home returns. See how studio color calibration compares.
| Feature | Reframe Studio | Automated Presets | Unadjusted Camera RAW |
|---|---|---|---|
| White Balance Precision | True neutral gray-card balancing removing all cast | Generic global tint adjustment that distorts hues | Mixed lighting casts (yellow indoor / blue daylight) |
| Fabric & Finish Match | Matched to physical Pantone/HEX reference swatches | Uncontrolled saturation boosts that misrepresent items | Under- or over-saturated depending on camera sensor |
| Catalog Consistency | Identical brightness & tone across multi-day shoots | Drifts between individual batches and lighting setups | Jarring contrast shifts across product collection grids |
| Highlight & Shadow Detail | Full dynamic range preserved without blown whites | Clipping shadows and blowing specular highlights | Crushed darks on dark fabrics and blown-out whites |
| Return Rate Impact | Minimizes 'color not as pictured' return claims | High return rates from unpredictable screen shifts | Unpredictable buyer expectations at delivery |
| Production Turnaround | 2,000+ images daily with 24h guaranteed SLA | Requires manual per-image correction afterwards | Slow in-house grading bottlenecks catalog launches |

Probably the best team I have worked with, and I use the platform very very often. Awesome pricing & highest possible result. Everything done to the smallest details. They really know how to use PS. Will definitely work with them in the long run.

Correction fixes an image so it looks like the real product: brightness, tone, white balance and color casts. Color Change creates new colorways of a product (from $0.30). If you shot a red shirt and it looks orange, order correction. If you want it in blue too, order change.
We can match to a reference we can see: a Pantone value, a HEX code or a photo of a swatch. We cannot check the physical item, and screens and print differ, so for products where color accuracy matters send a reference and tell us which color profile you publish in.
Pick one image you are happy with and send it as the target. We match every other image to it for brightness, white balance and tone. Batches with mixed lighting or several cameras cost more per image: the Multiple tier is $0.80 against $0.35 for Single.
Single ($0.35) is one overall correction to an image. Multiple ($0.80) is for an image that needs separate corrections in different areas, for example a product and a model that have different casts, or several differently lit parts. Prices are per image at 24h Standard.
Underexposed photos usually recover well, and RAW files recover best (we accept CR2, NEF, ARW and DNG). Highlights that are fully blown out have no detail left to bring back. If a shot is that far gone we will say so after the sample, so you can reshoot instead of paying for an edit that cannot work.
No. Color Correction fixes light and color. Dust, scratches and surface cleanup are Retouching (from $0.55), and heavy retouching or heavy color change are outside this service.
