How garment retouch is done
You send your photo
Your garment photo, on a model or flat, with wrinkles, creases, pins or tags you want gone.
We find wrinkles and tags
An editor marks every wrinkle, pin and tag to remove.
We press it flat
Wrinkles and tags are taken out by hand while the fabric's texture stays, so it still looks like real cloth.
A neat, level shape
Hems, seams and sides are lightly lined up for a neat shape, checked by a second editor.
Why studio garment retouching outperforms automated wrinkle filters.
Wrinkled clothing destroys buyer confidence and brand perception. See how manual fabric retouching compares.
| Feature | Reframe Studio | Automated Smoothing Apps | In-House Garment Steaming |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fabric Texture Retention | Removes wrinkles while keeping fine weave and knit detail | Blurs fabric into flat, synthetic plastic | Retains texture, but on-set steaming is never 100% |
| Symmetry & Shape Structure | Straightens hems, balances collars, and evens sleeves | Cannot correct silhouette asymmetry or crooked drape | Requires tedious on-set pinning and re-shoots |
| Pin, Tag & Clip Removal | Completely erases styling pins and manufacturer tags | Often leaves phantom artifact patches or holes | Takes valuable studio time during live photography |
| Color & Shadow Depth | Preserves natural light falloff and garment contour shadows | Flattens depth, making apparel look two-dimensional | Natural, but lighting varies across long shoot days |
| Batch Uniformity | Uniform finish and drape across entire apparel collections | Unpredictable results depending on garment pattern | Inconsistent results between different shoot setups |
| Turnaround Capacity | 5,000+ garments daily with 24h guaranteed delivery | Fast, but results require heavy manual correction | Adds hours of physical labor to every shoot day |

11 questions
All apparel types including shirts, dresses, jackets, and accessories, both model and flat lay.
Using targeted retouching that smooths folds while preserving natural fabric texture and material quality.
No, ghost mannequin editing is a separate service.
Simple ($0.55): light wrinkles and a few small marks. Medium ($0.99): visible creases across the garment or fabric that needs reshaping. Complex ($1.99): heavy creasing, layered or patterned fabric, or a garment that needs a lot of reshaping. Prices are per image at 24h Standard.
No. We smooth the folds and keep the weave, texture and drape, so the garment looks pressed and not plastic. Steaming before the shoot lowers the tier and gives the most natural result.
Creases, folds, dust, pins, tags, lint and small defects. We also do simple reshaping so collars, hems and shoulders sit better. We do not change the design of the garment.
Both work, all apparel types, shirts, dresses, jackets and accessories included. On a model photo we retouch the garment only. Skin, hair and body reshaping is Model Retouch.
No, it is a separate service (from $0.85). Order them together to get invisible-mannequin images with clean fabric; the Ghost Mannequin Complete bundle covers both for $1.54 per image.
5,000+ images a day, so seasonal drops and large catalogs fit. For a batch that size, send it a little ahead and we agree a delivery plan so the whole collection looks alike.
We use frequency separation to split the image into high-frequency texture (fabric weave, stitching, thread detail) and low-frequency color/tone (crease shadows and highlights). We soften the shadow of the crease on the low-frequency layer while leaving the actual fabric weave intact on the high-frequency layer. The garment looks freshly steamed, not blurry or airbrushed.
Yes. Delicates like silk, satin, linen, and sheer knits require calibrated brush tolerances to preserve natural drape. Our retouchers smooth unsightly shipping and folding wrinkles while retaining the physical weight and authentic texture of the garment.
